The needs of an Association that is either a High Rise or a Mid-Rise is not generic. I work with a team of specially trained experts to help identify construction defect issues that are unique to High Rise. and Mid-Rise buildings.
If you own a single family home with construction defects, I can help you identify them; work through the pre-litigation and litigation/arbitration process to obtain a result that you want in a timely manner.
Do you have a dispute with someone or another business? Are you a Franchisee or Franchisor? I can help you or help you find someone who can help you with your dispute.
Who is Scott Levine?
I graduated in 1988 from the University of California, Santa Barbara with a major in Economics and an emphasis in Accounting. I went to California Western School of Law in San Diego, graduating in 2 1/2 years and was admitted to the State Bar of California in 1991.
I began my career in a small civil litigation firm in San Diego. I learned how to litigate from the perspective of litigators and transactional attorneys in the firm. This provided me with a firm foundation to represent my clients when I ventured out on my own – starting my own firm in 1996 with a partner from that same firm.
Since 1996, my practice has been focused on the representation of community associations and homeowners in construction defect claims and litigation. I have also worked on numerous franchisor/franchisee matters that included mergers/acquisitions of businesses and the litigation that followed.
No two cases/claims are the same. It is important for me to listen to my clients so that I can work toward the result that they are trying to obtain.
In 2002, I was fortunate to be able to co-negotiate Senate Bill 800 (“SB 800”, Civil Code § 895), more commonly known as the “Right to Repair” act, the current law for construction defect litigation. This background provides me with the ability to expertly guide community associations and homeowners through construction defect claims and litigation.
I have been a member in Consumer Attorneys of San Diego and California for 15 years and was President of the Consumer Attorneys of San Diego in 2010. I was named a top attorney by the San Diego Daily Transcript. I have represented consumers my entire career and was honored to be awarded the Consumer Advocate of the Year Award in 2003.
I have lectured extensively on the subject of construction defects. These lectures include: Construction Defects A-Z for the Continuing Education of the Bar; SB800 for the Association of Southern California Construction Defect Defense Counsel; West Coast Casualty’s Annual Construction Defect Conference; and a Judge’s Panel for Construction Defect Attorneys.
I have been married Amy for over 25 years. We have two children, Alexandra and Andrew. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, being active, and learning about health and fitness. I am an avid reader. Some of my favorites include Moe Levine on Advocacy, Creativity Inc., #AskGaryVee, and Relentless.
